Congratulations to Mike Montano from Round Rock, TX who won $500 and a FREE Blade for submitting the slogan "Blade Your Ride,
It's Just Carbon Sense."
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first annual Blade Your Ride Scholarship. Over $30,000 in scholarships was awarded to talented, environmentally conscious college students in 2008.
If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Everyone must do their part to reduce their vehicle's CO2 and toxic particulate material (PM) emissions in order for positive environmental change to occur.
Do you think that you can make a webcast that will make a difference?
$15,000 in scholarships will be awarded this year. Enter the competition by June 30th 2009. Keep reading to find out how!
Create a buzzworthy webcast and win.
Awareness efforts about the global climate crisis have taken shape in many forms: movies, concerts, ecospots, websites and blogs, to name a few. Their widespread message is eye opening and undeniable. The 11th hour is upon us. We need to calculate our live impact, reduce our carbon footprint, look for the solutions available to us, and take the initiative to make change. Collectively, we have the power to make a difference. If we each do something, the damage will cease and our world will preserved for future generations. If we each do nothing, our descendants will certainly ask:"What were you thinking; why didn't you act?" – Al Gore, Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech 2007.
We know we need to do something, and we want to! But some of the most effective solutions available to us are expensive or inconvenient. In these increasingly difficult economic times, a very small percentage of the population can afford to buy a hybrid or is willing to ride a bike or bus in place of their car. If our power to make a difference is dependant on the collective actions of people, we need to find an effective solution that a large percentage of the population can afford and conveniently use.
This is where our company comes into the picture. Sabertec is an innovative environmental technology company. We are passionate about the environment and dedicated to developing emission-reduction technologies that will help people minimize their personal impact. We spent the last 6 years developing a ground-breaking technology called BLADE, named so because it CUTS emissions and CUTS fuel consumption.
BLADE is an effective solution that everyone can afford and conveniently use. Why? BLADE is inexpensive. BLADE is installed on the tailpipe of the car you already own. This means YOU can significantly reduce emissions of Greenhouse Gases and Air
Pollution, CO2 and toxic particulate material (PM), without giving up the convenience of your car or buying an expensive hybrid,
It is even a smart financial investment because it saves you money on gas each time you fill up.
In other words, BLADE pays you for reducing your carbon footprint. It is the only emission reduction device rigorously tested by the gold standards in testing (EPA 511 Protocol and SAE J1321) and scientifically proven to do so. So why isn't everyone BLADE-ing Their Rides?
This is where you come into the picture. Our BLADE needs some buzz. It is new on the market and the first technology of its kind, so we need help getting the word out. We want people to get excited about BLADE, talk about it with their friends and family and use it to reduce their personal impact on the environment. Webcasts are a powerful way to create this kind of excitement and buzz. Just think: YouTube.
We are big supporters of education and know that hard-working college students like yourselves are the leaders of tomorrow. You are the ones making strides in your communities to stop global warming right now. You are the ones with the vision and passion required to make a buzzworthy webcast. We developed the Blade Your Ride Scholarship so you could earn money for college AND spread the word about an affordable, convenient solution for the global climate crisis.
Good luck, and have fun!
