Emerging Environmental Technology Company, Sabertec, Offers Visit www.BladeYourRide.com/byr-scholarship.html to cast a vote for your favorite video; Contest AUSTIN, TX (November 3, 2008) – Sabertec (www.sabertec.org), an emerging environmental technology company that specializes in the development of affordable vehicle emissions reduction solutions that help curb air pollution and global warming, is calling on the general public to determine the grand-prize winner of their Blade Your Ride Scholarship (BYRS) contest. All voters will have an opportunity to win $500 and a Blade (http://www.BladeYourRide.com), Sabertec’s groundbreaking device that attaches to the tailpipe of a car, SUV, light duty truck or Hybrid to reduce CO2 emissions up to 12%, capture toxic particulate material (PM) and increase fuel economy up to six miles per gallon. Over the past year, the Blade Your Ride Scholarship has challenged environmentally active college and university students from around the country to create webcast videos that raise awareness about both the causes and consequences of air pollution and global warming, while highlighting Blade as part of the solution. Hundreds of applicants submitted Blade-inspired videos, and after a long and rigorous selection process, only four remain. Judging criteria for submitted videos was based on the originality, creativity and effectiveness of the webcast. Each of the four finalists have already been awarded a $5,000 Scholarship from Sabertec. The finalists are Louise Dreier of Columbia University, Emmanuel Igbinosa of Stanford University, Christopher Masi of Biola University and Tristan Vaughan of George Washington University. Now Sabertec is asking Americans to go online and vote for their favorite video to determine which finalist should be awarded the grand prize of an additional $10,000. “The Blade Your Ride Scholarship was created to help students gain access to affordable education while inspiring their peers to take action, reduce their impact on the environment and increase awareness about new green technologies like Blade, which are essential to the revitalization of our country’s economy,” said Bill O’Brien, CEO of Sabertec. “We announced the Scholarship in September 2007 and in just nine months we received over a hundred video submissions. Narrowing down our top finalists was incredibly difficult, but the creativity, intellect and vision expressed in these four webcasts blew us away.” “We are big supporters of education at Sabertec, which is why we established the Blade Your Ride Scholarship in the early stages of our company’s development. Seeing the amount of passion and effort students put into creating these videos encourages us to invest even more into this program next year. With today’s uncertain economic situation, where access to student loans is being tightened and becoming less available, it is more important than ever that companies step up to play a role in fostering higher education,” said Ashley Fontaine, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Sabertec.
